GUYS:do you prefer girls w/ short manicured nails w/ pale polish or the long nails w/ colored polish?
To reply to all the ladies who posted above. Men do care about these small details. Long nails are a must, it's something very feminine and we like french manicure or when a woman uses one colour at the time (nail art it's a bit...80's). Longish and clean nails are definitely a must.

On your index and ring finger on each hand have your tech swipe a few silver stripes (like feathers) and add a clear rhinestone at the point where she started at close to the tip. I just did my daughters like this and also did her toes the same but did the feather stripes on her big toes only and added 2 rhinestones. She can't stop looking at them and she can't wait to show her friends. Have a great time and Be safe at prom!

it definitly get messy..
1- paint the tips black
2- clean it up with a brush and acetone, creating a smile line
3-paint the white in the back...u may paint sideways to get closer to the black smile line
4- top coat, but be careful not to streak the white n black together

I think the best thing is a french manicure. But if you don't want to have a french manicure all summer here is what I do:
I paint my nails with french manicure polish. Then I take a thin acrylic overlay to protect it. Then if you choose to wear a different color that matches your outfit all you have to do is apply two coats over the french manicure to change the color.
Then if you want to go back to the french manicure all you have to do is use NON-ACETONE nail polish to take of the polish and then you will have your french manicure back.
This is so convenient because french manicure goes with anything and if you don't have time to polish your nails you can still have a great look for summer.
All of my nail clients love this! Give it a try!

Whenever I do this myself( instead of seeing a professional) I use the pink color that's normally used for french. I think sally Henson makes one called french. It looks natural and pretty and your natural nail shows through so it looks kinda like a french. Plus it still looks good even when it chips.

I'm getting my nails done later today and I don't know what color to do! I'm treating myself for back to school so it's just for fun... nothing special. I'm going to be a junior in high school. I LOVE fashion and I want my nails to look trendy and cute! I was thinking a french manicure on my nails but I don't know if that will look too fancy and I think my nails are too short. red nails are not the way to go. trying to match your nails with your dress is not a good idea, you will look like you are wearing too much red and if the shade red is not the exact same shade it will looks really crappy.

What you do is put the tape when you want the color to end on the bottom of your nail (close to the cuticle). Then if you use the paint pen just fill the open space with any color you want. After that use clear nail polish as your final coat to prevent chipping. If you use just nail pollish use a color that is darker and follow the same instructions.

try the fake nails that you can glue on, its under $5 and you can paint right over them if you don't like the colors. you can, of course, also get french manicure in it. i always get this soft baby pink soooo pretty and rite- aid. i don't remember the brand but its around $3. I don't have time to get acrilics- and i'm too impatient for them anyways- and these glue on nails are strong and don't damage your natural nails as much as acrilics

A girl I knew got these nails that were so cute they were purple with glittery dazzle streak on them, and she had these other nails that were cute, they were pink with white flowers.

A girl I knew got these nails that were so cute they were purple with glittery dazzle streak on them, and she had these other nails that were cute, they were pink with white flowers.
I just got mine done with money as tips and clear(real money $1)they cut the dollar in to tiny Little pieces.it looks really good got lots of compliments.hope that helps

I am a licenced nail technician and I feel that when people say that it gives us a bad rep. If you go to an experienced qualified person your nails will not be damaged at all.
I personally prefer French manicure, but I don't like Acrylics and don't recommend them, because you have to maintain them all the time, you have to get them fill in every 2 weeks or less, if you don't plan on maintaining them, then keep it natural, because if those acrylics don't get fill ins they will look ugly.

Hi I just got back from the beauty parlor with my mom and I wanted this hot orange instead of the usual washed out pink or beige she makes me pick. She said I was too young and too many people would notice. What's WRONG with that! Thats a cute question haha - I think it's really up to you. Why does color have to have an ';appropriate age';. If you're in a happy mood, for for something wild. If you're mellow then go for something natural. Vary it - age should never matter.

Unfortunately you gotta do what your mom wants as long as she is paying the bill. This is not forever. Remember one day you will have to change her diapers and get to torture her and make her get hot orange nails when she is 80. A friend of mine makes her mom wear christmas ornaments in her ears and pushes her around the mall in a wheelchair that way. How awesome is that?
Maybe mom would compromise and let you have vibrant colors on your toe nails if you keep your fingernails the way she likes them??
nothing is worng with colors! orange is a way of expression! if your mom wants you to be some beauty queen, fine. but make your own choices in life, and you'll get far!!!!! plus-it's a great conversation striker for guys-lol! good luck
i really think that younger people are supposed to wear moer vibrant colors than when you are older. i would have told my mom that i want to just try it this time and if you approve when it is ON my fingernails then i can keep it. she shouldn't say that you are too young to wear an orange nail polish because younger people are supposed to have fun with their nail polish!

if u get color on ur hands u have to get that same color on ur feel, unless u choose to get french tip, that matches everything.

You could get a strengthening nail polish in clear, and use some cuticle oil to heal cracking and hang nails. Colours that are really in right now are like, navy blues, deep purple, neons and blacks. Anything that pops!

me i have always liked doing a dark color and then a light tip or a dark tip and a light color (my opion is that is hot, hen u dont have tips that is. when u d traditional frech looks best)

well personally i love how nail polishes look like with all their colors but i wouldn't wear them, i would get a french manicure because it doesnt look too much but yet it's very pretty because whenever u put an actual colour on it doesnt match much and it just looks too much and as for the pedicure, i'd get clear since it looks good and i wouldnt put really much on toes, but u could do a french manicure as well and make it work
